In celebration of Delran Fire Company No. 1's 100th year anniversary, Mal Anderson, first chief of the department and president of the Delran Historical Society, compiled the below book highlighting the first 100 years of DFC No, 1. Enjoy the many photos and artifacts documenting the creation and expansion of the fire company.

Delran Fire Company No. 1: 60 Year History
On April 5th, 1976, Delran Fire Company No. 1 President and Company Historian, Wayne Wm. Smith released his document on the history of the fire company. This marks 60 years to the day that a committee of citizens of Delran Township (the committee was appointed at an earlier meeting on March 28, 1916) met at Lester Fortnum's garage to organize a fire company. William. J. Smith was elected Chief and J. Norman Spawn was elected President. Chief Smith served from 1916 - 1925 and then again 1929-1936. President Spawn served from 1916 - 1917. Wayne Wm. Smith was the grandson of William. J. Smith. Wayne Wm. Smith, served as President from 1973 - 1976.
