This letter serves as an invitation to participate as a sponsor of the 2^nd Annual Smokin' Hot 5K Run/Walk, to be held in Delran Township on Saturday, September 10, 2010.

As you may know, the Delran Fire Company is a 100% Volunteer Fire Company, dedicated to providing the citizens of Delran Township with the highest degree of service within our capacity in order to preserve and protect life and property from the devastation of fire and other life threatening emergencies.

I write to you, as a fellow member of the community, and a volunteer firefighter in Delran, asking for your support of the 2^nd Annual DFC Smokin' Hot 5K Run/Walk. A fundraising race, dedicated to promoting firefighter safety and health & wellness in the community of Delran and its surrounding areas.

Proceeds from the race go toward promoting health and well being of firefighters in your community. With your support this year, and the continued support of our community, we feel confident we can achieve our goal of ensuring that firefighters have the resources they need to maintain healthy lifestyles, and are better able to protect the citizens of the community.

I have attached a sponsorship form which includes a brief description of the three sponsorship levels as well as some information about donating prizes. With the anticipated attendance at over 300 runners, sponsors will enjoy increased name recognition and goodwill in the local community. Sponsorship of a local race offers exposure that can be more directly targeted, more effective, and less costly than traditional advertising.
